Coldness Instilled

Do you know where the wind blows?  Do you know where the heart of the mountains lies? Do you know where the angels sing – at the edge of the night sky.  Walk among the stars and gaze into time, see what lies beyond, reach for dreams that wish to belong.

Listen to the echoes that whisper in your heart.  A story told by thousands, a story told by the beating of your heart.  Turmoil and love – oh have the beating sway, just never let there be silence.

Grab a firefly, hold so softly in your hand, listen to the glow and see the dawning of the day.  Carry forth your spirit on wings of a silent lover.  Through forests and oceans, mountains and snow.  To tether off the edge of the world – held back by what you are still yet to know.

Embrace me, complete me, touch every sinew of my body, make me float within you, make me understand you.  Comprehension be lost within love and anger.  Clear my eyes of haze and fog.

Chained and bound I am to this place, a world among worlds of people who do not know.  Their eyes are glazed over, their hearts callused stone.  No fire in their eyes, no smile in their thoughts.  Their actions predefined by minds not their own.

I walk along the edge of a silver crystal lake – I let the coldness touch me.  I look up into a clear blue sky; I let the coldness touch me.  I listen to the wind telling the forest a tale of laughter and joy where the winter has not yet touched.  I let the golden rays of the sun caress me and remind me of what’s yet to come.

I let the coldness take me, complete me, hold me – yet I am still there.  I let the world around me take me as yet I was not there.  I am among the creatures, the forest, and the earth.  I walk on a plane that some never see.  I am warmth in the coldness of the world; I am the warmth if you only let me be.
